What Happens If SNAP Stops? What You Should Know And Do To Protect Yourself

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Services has warned that there may be insufficient funds to pay November benefits through the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which provides food assistance to roughly 42 million Americans nationwide.

On Oct. 10, the USDA informed every state that, because of the government shutdown, it must pause sending November SNAP payments. This means states can’t send payment files to the companies that load money onto Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards until they get new instructions.… Read more

Letitia James Pleads Not Guilty In Mortgage Fraud Case 

On Friday, Oct. 24, New York Attorney General Letitia James pleaded “not guilty” to federal charges of mortgage fraud during her first court appearance in Virginia.

AP reports that the Department of Justice accused Letitia James of bank fraud and making false statements in filings related to a 2020 home purchase in Norfolk, Virginia. The judge set a trial date for Jan. 25, though James’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, told the judge the defense intends to have the case dismissed.… Read more

 KMOJ-FM 89.9 LAUNCHES THE STATE’S FIRST URBAN HIP-HOP STATION

 The New Urban Hip-Hop sound heats up the Minneapolis-St. Paul airwaves today at Noon and in the process logging another first for The Center for Communication and Development/ KMOJ-FM and HD1.

CCD/KMOJ-FM 89.9 is on the air with KMOJ HD2, The Ice. The new HD Channel, found at KMOJ-FM 89.9 HD2, is Minnesota’s first Urban Hip-Hop format. The Ice will also present Public Affairs programming in keeping with its community radio FCC license.… Read more
