[Op-Ed] The Hurricane Katrina Kids We Don’t Talk About

I was in my first week of sophomore year at Spelman College on August 29, 2005. Freshman year was transformative; I was learning about love from bell hooks, living in a new city, and beginning to see how differently Blackness could be experienced and embodied. I was becoming a new version of myself and believed I would not return home to New Orleans after college. That changed after Katrina.

Instead of leaving the city when Hurricane Katrina hit, my family stayed behind at a hotel off Canal Street.… Read more

Hoping to get things back on track, Drizzy decided to go on Bobbi Althoff’s Not This Again podcast and gave people even more reason to clown him as he just can’t seem to do anything right these days (no shots).… Read more

Drake Finally Addresses The Plastic Surgery Rumor, “They Call Me BBL Drizzy”

Drake has been the center of plenty of wild rumors, but one of the longest-running is whether his abs are the result of the gym or the doctor’s office.

The chatter really picked up steam again during his feud with Kendrick Lamar. On “euphoria” back in April 2024, Kendrick took a jab at Drake’s stomach, and a month later on “Meet The Grahams” he doubled down, basically suggesting Champagne Papi was faking the six-pack life.

But truthfully, this isn’t new.… Read more

French Montana Gets Engaged To Dubai Princess Sheikha Mahra

It looks like French Montana can now officially retire from the rap game, as it’s being reported that the Bronx representative has just gotten engaged to his princess, and yes, we mean an actual princess.

According to TMZ, the “Pop That” rapper recently revealed that he had locked down and rocked down a princess of Dubai, Sheikha Mahra. Unfortunately for French, news of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s engagement is overshadowing that of his own, but we’re still congratulating the man on not only getting himself a rare woman (she’s a princess for God’s sake), but securing his future, ’cause the man hasn’t had a hit in quite some time.… Read more
