The Memphis rap star is proving her staying power with hit singles and a highly talked about debut album.
Billboard has named GloRilla the hottest female rapper of 2024, she tops the year-end list of women in rap.
The Memphis rapper edged out heavyweights like collaborators Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Latto, and more to claim the coveted spot.
After reportedly facing challenges in 2023, including a lukewarm reception to singles like “Cha Cha,” GloRilla reclaimed the spotlight with her smash hit “Yeah Glo!” early this year. The track soared into the top 30 on the Hot 100, marking a turning point for the 25-year-old.
“The swaggering track showcased her resiliency as a rapper who refuses to buckle under pressure,” wrote Billboard’s Carl Lamarre.
The emcee garnered further success with the top 15 hit “Wanna Be” featuring Megan and the summer anthem “TGIF.” Her debut album, “GLORIOUS,” solidified her dominance, debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 with 69,000 album-equivalent units sold.
Lamarre described this achievement as “the proverbial cherry on top,” cementing GloRilla’s status as rap’s breakout star of the year.
