Travis Scott and Live Nation have reportedly settled a majority of the wrongful death lawsuits brought against them in the wake of the Astroworld tragedy. Out of 10 wrongful death lawsuits to emerge after the incident, one case went to trial this week.

50 Cent is now suing his ex, Daphne Joy claiming that she defamed him with comments made in a post on social media.

According to reports, 50 Cent has filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend, Daphne Joy. In the documents of the filing, the rapper and entertainment mogul said that Joy “falsely and publicly” accused him of “rape and physical abuse” during their relationship. 50 Cent also claims that she made a “purposeful attempt to, on information and belief, destroy his personal and business reputation, harm Jackson’s commercial and business interests, negatively affect his custody case, and prevent him from seeing his minor son.”… Read more

Fans of The Chi rejoice—the show is not done yet. The hit Showtime original series is getting a seventh season.

Deadline reports that Paramont+ and Showtime have renewed The Chi for a seventh season before the second-half premiere of season six on May 10.

The decision is a no-brainer following the success of season six of The Chi, which became the streamer’s most-viewed season ever, increasing nearly 25 percent from season five.

New Study To Evaluate Why Black Women Face Higher Mortality Rates From Cancer

A new study launched by the American Cancer Society, will investigate why Black women experience disproportionately higher mortality rates from different types of cancer.

On May 7, the American Cancer Society initiated the VOICES of Black Women study, aiming to enroll over 100,000 Black women ages 25 to 55 in the United States. The study seeks to evaluate whether lifestyle factors and healthcare racism and biases impact their susceptibility to cancer development or mortality. Eligible participants may not have a history of cancer upon enrolling as the study will follow select candidates for a 30 year period to assess how and when the disease develops.… Read more

No Plot Twist Here: A New Study Finds Even Black Preschoolers Are Routinely Discriminated Against

A new 2024 report focused on the youngest children has found  that there is “ongoing, excessive, and inequitable over-disciplining of Black students, especially boys.” The study, conducted by Calvin Zimmerman, the O’Shaughnessy Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, used data collected from the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC), which is the largest national database for school districts and buildings.

A shooting took place near Drake’s home in Toronto yesterday (May 6), but luckily the rapper himself wasn’t hurt in the crazy incident as he hasn’t been in Toronto for quite some time.

According to TMZ, an unknown man was shot outside of Drake’s mansion near the intersection of Bayview Ave and Lawrence Ave around 2:09 a.m. local time Tuesday (May 7).
